At 115 square feet, Clare V’s Brentwood Country Mart location is the brand’s smallest store. The design is inspired by Le Corbusier’s compact seaside getaway, Le Cabanon. Not only is Corbu’s cabin a masterclass in maximizing small spaces with clever storage solutions, but its palette of primary colors elevated by warm wood paneling and hand-carved hardware relate well to the brand’s strong sense of color. The result is both airy and joyful. The design features a yellow epoxy floor, douglas fir millwork punctuated by color-blocked laminate drawers and a Mondrian-esque ceiling. We clad the walls in a burlap wall board where the team can flexibly pin up French new-wave posters, ribbons and monogram samples. One of our favorite elements is a Corbusier-designed swing arm sconce that hovers over an organically shaped wood counter, home to the store’s monogram machine and signature “customization station.”
